In vitro study | 2-Phenylethanamine (PEA) is soluble in water, ethanol, and ether. Phenethylamine is a skin irritant and possible sensitizer. 2-Phenylethanamine is believed to function as a neuromodulator or neurotransmitter (a trace amine). It is also found in many foods such as chocolate, especially after microbial fermentation. 2-Phenylethanamine is a precursor to the neurotransmitter phenylethanolamine. High levels of 2-Phenylethanamine have been found in the urine of schizophrenics but it is not significantly elevated in the serum or CSF of schizophrenics. Urinary levels of 2-Phenylethanamine are significantly lower in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. 2-Phenylethanamine is useful for scaring off rodent pests. |

Application | 2-phenylethylamine hydrochloride is a primary amine compound. 2-phenylethylamine hydrochloride is a kind of important chemical raw materials, which has a wide range of applications in the field of chemical industry (especially fine chemical and pharmaceutical industry). |
preparation | (1) imidization: 3, 4-diphenylfuran-2, 5-dione (100.0mg,0.4mmol) and 1% ammonia (3.4g, 2.0mmol) were added to a 10ml microwave reaction tube, and the power of the microwave reactor was set at 80W, microwave irradiation at 120 ° C. Should be 5 minutes; After cooling, using 20ml of ethyl acetate extraction twice, combined organic layer, adding anhydrous sodium sulfate to dry, the solvent ethyl acetate was recovered under reduced pressure to give 3, 4-diphenyl-1h-pyrrol-2, 5-dione in a yield of 100%, which was directly used for the subsequent N-alkylation reaction. (2)N-alkylation: β-bromophenylethane (73.6mg,0.4mmol) was added to give 1-phenylethyl-3, 4-diphenyl- 1H-pyrrol-2, 5-dione. (3) Hydrolysis: The above 1-phenethyl-3, 4-diphenyl-1h-pyrrol-2, 5-dione is hydrolyzed to obtain raw material 3, 4-diphenylfuran-2, 5-dione (97.6mg), recovery 98%; 2-phenylethylamine hydrochloride (56.6mg), yield 90%. (Based on the raw material β-bromostyrene ethane). |
